In line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and technological development in all different fields, and believing in the role of technology in building the national economy and transforming countries’ strategies into a knowledge economy, the Department of Artificial Intelligence was established at the beginning of the academic year 2022-2023, at the King Abdullah II College of Information Technology at the University of Jordan to be The first department of artificial intelligence in Jordan.
The Department of Artificial Intelligence has two programs conferring a bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence and a bachelor’s degree in Data Science.
Study plans have been developed to simulate advanced and modern topics in the fields of artificial intelligence and data science, and link them to practical applications in various fields, for the artificial intelligence department to be one of the leading departments in this field. On the other hand, the study plans are subject to continuous updating in line with the continuous development.
The department includes very qualified faculty members who hold PhD degrees in various disciplines such as artificial intelligence, big data science, natural language processing, computer vision and other related disciplines.
The department aims to establish strong partnerships with companies specialized in data processing and analysis and local, regional and international artificial intelligence companies, to open horizons of cooperation in the areas of training and holding seminars, and to know the market needs and the skills necessary to acquire them for the students of the department.
In addition, the department aspires to lead a stage of modernization and integration of artificial intelligence technology in various fields at the university and national levels, and to be a major source of competencies for the Jordanian, regional and global market.
